Basic Structure:


The oil-immersed transformer is comprised of several key components including the core, windings, oil tank, insulation bushings, radiators, and more. The core, constructed from laminated silicon steel sheets, minimizes eddy current losses, while the windings, made from copper or aluminum wires, facilitate voltage transformation through electromagnetic induction. The oil tank houses the transformer oil, which is vital for insulation, cooling, and heat dissipation.

Working Principle:


Operating on the law of electromagnetic induction, the transformer alters AC voltage based on the turns ratio between the primary and secondary windings. When the primary winding is energized by an AC power source, an alternating magnetic flux is created in the core, thereby inducing the appropriate voltage in the secondary winding.
